✿Clockwork Angel

Guess who couldn’t get through Thunderhead again? Me. I kept trying and trying to read this book but it just… Isn’t doing it for me so I picked up a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while to take its place which is Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

So this review was supposed to be posted in May, but hey, it is here now 🙂

Earlier this year, I completed books one through three of the Mortal Instruments series and I enjoyed them. They were good books but none of them held me on or kept me guessing. This has to do with the fact I watched Shadowhunters on TV and my love for the show made me want to read the books.

I ended up actually listening to all 3 books and like I said, I enjoyed them but I couldn’t stand the main characters, Clary or Jace, at times(I found them to be very annoying) but I loved the shadowhunter world. I was watching one of my favorite booktubers talk about the series who also had some of the same opinions about the series and advised to check out The Infernal devices series by Clare so I did. I ended up picking up the audiobook of Clockwork Angel and I LOVED it!

This story follows Tessa Gray in the year 1878 as she makes her trip to London to look for her brother Nathaniel. On this journey, she ends up encountering shadowhunters and her journey into this world begins.

I didn’t think I would love this book as much as I did, but I am glad I picked it up. It’s filled with romance, action, Magnus Bane, suspense, and again MAGNUS BANE. Magnus was my favorite character in the TV show as well as the mortal instruments series so the fact I get more of him now? (Maybe? Not sure how this series will play out but I am stoked)

Overall I gave this book 4/5 stars. It was very enjoyable and made me excited to continue this series! I will probably finish the next book in July since I have such a large TBR for June.

If you would like to see what I’ve read so far this year check out my Goodreads profile!

Until next time
